Ana Mercedes Ortiz was born in the city of Rivera, in Uruguay, in 1980, where she still lives.
She's both a writer and a painter. In writing, feels a profound admiration for the power of
poetry to evoke and inspire, which is very likely to see explored in her poems.

A playful imagination, and refreshning creativity caracterizes the drawings and several short stories, of
a wide variety of genres. Science-fiction, romance, fantasy, humor and adventure are some of the favourite ingredients
used in these texts.
Film reviews are also included in her history. For over a year, they appeard as a special
contribution in a local newspaper.
